Hudson is thrilled to announce he will have a baby brother in June!

I've posted this before, but thought it was appropriate to post again as a prayer for both our boys...
What shall we ask for our baby boy?
Shall we ask for fame, or gain, or joy,
For the dear-bought wisdom of the schools,
Or a skillful hand in the use of tools?
Ah, nay, our wishes much higher go
Than the highest hill with its cap of snow,
And the heart’s desire must wider be
Than the utmost stretch of the boundless sea.
We ask for the blessing of God above
And an early sense of the Savior’s love,
An early sense of His wondrous grace
And an early start to seek His face;
A soul that is cleansed by the Savior’s blood,
A heart that is kept by the peace of God,
Where the very God of peace may dwell,
His holy secrets of love to tell.
Feet that shall walk in the path of life
And follow the Lamb through stress or strife,
That following through pain and loss
He may learn the worth of the Savior’s cross;
A place in his heart for the words of truth,
And God for his guide from his early youth.
Great things we ask for our baby boy –
A place in God’s universe of joy,
A home in the land where his Son supreme
And His wondrous cross are the dearest theme.

Since we'll have more to blog about, I'll probably start posting again regularly so check back again soon.

After much thought, I have decided to stop blogging... at least for now. With a (near) two-year old in the house it is just simply to hard to keep up with it. I may sign on again one day, but for now I won't be posting any more entries.
Thanks to all for keeping up with us over the past couple of years. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Just finished watching the Dallas Cowboys lose 7 - 45 at Green Bay to a national audience on a Sunday night. Usually this is when teams play a little harder, have a little more passion and actually wants to win the game. One team did and it wasn't the Cowboys.
They now have a 1-7 record with the very high probability that they won't win another game this year. And I'm okay with that, because every game they lose that means Jerry Jones will lose money. Is that a really bad thing to say, yes, but being a die-hard Cowboys fan, I have continued to watch this team look worse and worse each season. They've had brief glimpses of greatness, but it's always been hanging by a thread. They have one bad play and you can see the self-distruction. I want it to be so bad that it causes drastic changes and I think we may finally get our wish.
I think the biggest problem with the Cowboys is they don't have a leader, not among the players, not on the coaching staff or in the front office. Tony Romo, Damarcus Ware, Jason Garrett, Wade Philips, Jerry Jones; not a leader among any of them. If the players don't see a leader directly above them, they'll look to the next level, and the next and the next until they find one. Well, Jerry Jones would be the highest level and what do they see? A guy more interested in his shiny new stadium with a pretty scoreboard then actually selling a good product. Sure the restaurant is nice, plenty of smiles and flair on the wait staff, big screen tv's on the wall, but if your hamburger is undercooked, you're sending it back. Season ticket holders have already paid for this year and with the amount they paid, they'll go to the games but Jerry better be concerned that he'll sell tickets next year.
Of course, there's a really good possibility there won't be football next year anyway.
I am so late posting these, as usual. Hudson has already been is school for a month this week. I say the first "full" day because the actual first day was a little bit of a nightmare. The night before we got 15 inches of rain! There were areas of flooding and schools were delayed 2 hours. We didn't realize we should check the website before venturing out that morning so we got there at the regular start time and showed up to an empty parking lot. Luckily one of the teachers was there and told us that school was delayed. By the time we returned it was raining again and too hard to get pictures, so we took pictures the next day.

Hudson loves school! He is so excited when we get there in the mornings. On Wednesdays he has a music and creative movement class and on Fridays he has chapel. This past Friday I got to bring home his first piece of artwork, apple stamp painting.
I think we have a great year ahead!
Today was Open House at Hudson's Preschool and his first day of school is Wednesday. He was so excited with all of the activity and little kids running around everywhere. He met his teachers, Mrs. Lisa and Miss Kim and I think he is going to do just great!
Tonight we ran some errands to get some of his supplies and new tennis shoes and then went to Phil's Icehouse for dinner. The weather was simply beautiful today, so it was a perfect night to eat outside and play a little. Hudson had such a great time and I think it was a great kick-off to Fall.
